Hoping there aren't two versions flying around and that the manufacturer took feedback and tapped them.No instructions, though.I'm hoping this will last me another 10 years.I had to look up repair instructions on YouTube, but I found a good video and followed the instructions as closely as possible. To my credit, I almost didn't screw up a crucial part and have to re-disassemble the dryer and try again. When I turned the dryer on, it smelled like burning, which was scary at first until I realized that this is normal after doing repairs on a dryer, especially after you've vacuumed the entire thing and blown dust around everywhere. Don't panic. It'll pass. Not even close to same quality. Go support your local appliance parts store. OEM parts for the win. Before installing these parts, our dryer was sqeaking off and on again, but the problem seemed to be getting worse over time. The sqeaking sound was starting to drive us crazy and made doing the laundry even less fun than usual. After a little research and trouble shooting, I determined that the rear bearing was the issue-- when I removed the bearing there was no lubricant whatsoever on it and there was some slight wear on the ball joint. I thought about just greasing the joint, but to play it safe, I left the unit disassembled and ordered these parts on Prime. Since the dryer belt was slightly damaged, I ordered that as well. About 32 hours later, the parts we delivered. Gotta love Prime shipping. It is worth noting that this repair is moderately difficult. It can be done, but may require a little patience and a helping hand for a couple of steps. DEFINITELY check out the helpful repair videos online. They are SUPER helpful. And by all means, unplug the unit BEFORE you start. Dryers use a lot of power, so safety first. I work slowly on stuff like this, and it probably took about 3 hours total. While the unit was open, I took the opportunity to give it a good cleaning. (Oh my goodness. It was a little past due!

Basically, - disconnect the dryer from power - in the back, remove the rear access panel to reach and remove the belt from the motor assembly - in the back or front, remove any bolts holding the top cover and remove it - in the front, remove bolts from the top and disconnect just enough wires to remove the electronic board assembly (where you make your dryer selections) - in the front, remove bolts from the TOP and BOTTOM (lift up the entire dryer to see these bolts) and INSIDE to remove the entire front panel, lifting and then pulling it away - in the front on the top, remove the plastic drum guide - in the drum assembly, remove the bolts holding the drum to the rear bearing assembly (three center bolts); I recommend something that can generate a LOT of torque for this step. SET THESE BOLTS OFF TO THE SIDE (you may not need them) - lifting the drum and guiding it out through the front of the dryer - cleaning up any lint. REMEMBER TO CONNECT THE TWO PAIRS OF WIRES - do everything in reverse, but when it comes back to mounting the drum, use the bolts that came with this kit and not the ones you removed earlier Clean up the dryer lint as well as you can (but doesn't need to be perfect) while you have the whole thing apart. I recommend having GOOD tools. I took mine apart using a PC repair kit and a Leatherman, which works up until you remove the drum from the rear bearing assembly, because those bolts are TIGHT. (I ended up using a power drill to loosen those bolts.) I also did this myself, but I recommend having someone to help you out, especially with bolting the drum back into place, since you have to hold the drum up WHILE you bolt the three bolts back. (I propped the drum on my knees and adjusted as necessary, but this part was a pain.) I also highly recommend that if you do this, replace the heater element too. Opening up and closing this thing in its entirety takes a while, so you might as well get that done too.

Test the thermal fuse the same as a thermostat. Not Enough Heat This is one of those problems that point you directly to the cause. A dryer that does not get hot enough indicates an operating thermostat or high-limit thermostat that is opening at too low a temperature. Thermostats can be tested for their opening and closing points; however, it requires specialized testing equipment that only the professionals can afford. You are better off replacing both thermostats. Does not Tumble A Frigidaire electric dryer that heats up, the motor runs, but the drum does not turn is another problem that can be self-diagnosed. The cause of the problem is a broken drum drive belt, or a badly stretched drive belt. To replace the drive belt, open the top panel and remove the front panel of the dryer which is held in place by screws at the top right and left inside corners of the dryer. Noisy Dryers A noisy Frigidaire electric dryer is a symptom of worn front drum glides, a worn rear drum support bearing or a seized idler pulley. To repair these problems, replace the defective parts. Replacing the rear drum support bearing or front glides requires opening the dryer and pulling the drum from it. When replacing a seized idler pulley, it is a good idea to replace the drum drive belt at the same time because the old one will have been stretched or burned. ) The dryer is now much quieter, and there is no more sqeaking. Wish I'd taken the time to do this a couple of months ago, but better now than never!Others suggested using the old screws to thread the holes. Now I'm not Superman but nor am I Wimpy but there was no way I would have ever threaded the new holes with a screwdriver, even my nice ratcheting one. Nor did the regular electric drill with Phillips bit work. I succeeded only when using my impact driver drill. The replacement project itself is straightforward. Plenty of videos out there and it's also pretty obvious what goes where. This is not a one-person project, however. Getting the drum back in and the belt on (Frigidaire stackable) required my teenaged son in the back with the belt and me in the front with the drum. It may seem like a lot but use all the lubricant provided. Wear gloves!Unfortunately this did not resolve the issue, to no fault of the part. I would have given it a full 5 stars if there were some sort of instructions with it. Although there are plenty of YouTube videos showing how to replace and install the bearing kit some paper instructions would be beneficial as well. There are some great instructional videos on YT for replacing these so I ordered this kit and gave it a go. The process isn't particularly difficult - it took about 1.5 hours for a noob. It's reassuring to know it is a genuine replacement part and not some knock-off that will die in a year. Saved a multi-hundred dollar repair bill and have the satisfaction of a DIY repair! The kit arrived relatively quickly in the mail. It didn't come with the washers for the screw though, and I think they were supposed to have been included. The screws were also a bit of a challenge to get into the assembly, but managed to get them to fit in the end.Should be good for another 10 years.Easy to install and now my dryer is quiet, no more squeaky sounds when running.

The parts came well packaged with all the pieces needed to complete the repair on the dryer. It shipped very quickly. Common Dryer Problems and Repairs How to Troubleshoot a Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer That Won't Heat What to Do When an Electric Dryer Won't Turn on A Frigidaire electric clothes dryer is subject to the same common problems as any other clothes dryer. Perhaps the dryer does not start when you turn the start switch. The dryer might run, but it does not get hot. Maybe the motor runs, but the drum does not spin. All these problems are easy to troubleshoot and repair, even for a beginner. No Heat A dryer that runs but does not heat up is a common problem and one that is easy to diagnose and repair. The heating circuit of a Frigidaire dryer consists of a heating element, a high-limit thermostat, a thermal fuse and an operating thermostat. Many dryers require the removal of the dryer's rear panel to access these thermostats; however, with a Frigidaire dryer, you need only to open the top panel by releasing the two spring catches at the front right and left corners. To release the catches, push them toward the rear of the dryer, using a putty knife. To test a thermostat, remove the wires from one of the connectors and one of the meter's probes to each of the connectors. A good thermostat will display a “0.000” on the meter's LCD. A defective thermostat will display a “O.L.” on the LCD, indicating no continuity. To test the heating element, remove the wires from its terminals and test between the terminals, using the digital multimeter. A good heating element will display a resistance of 10 to 20 Ohms on the meter's LCD. Like the thermostats, a bad heating element will display a “O.L.” on the LCD screen. The thermal fuse is a safety fuse that opens when the high-limit safety thermostat fails to open.

This entire replacement probably took more time than it should if only the entire part was actually purchased. At the least DIY Repair is misleading the consumer!!Dryer was stopping after 1 minute. I decided to gamble and figure out, through the process of elimination, the probable cause of the blinking lights. I browsed various appliance forums and saw that this particular brand of dryers has problems with the main control board failing. I did not get the various error codes that other dryers show on the display, just blinking lights. I decided to google the corresponding number of the control board and I got it from appliancepartspros. It was the 134523200 part. I ordered it and it arrived the next day via UPS. Installation was time consuming but not too bad. It took me about 3 hours to do it. I was taking photos and since it was my first time doing it, I wanted to be extra careful. I also cleaned the lint off the dryer and off the vent, which increased my completion time. I would urge you to do the same and clean the insides of the dryer with swiffer dusters. I took step by step pictures and I have posted them on google pictures.I will be sending it back today!!My supplier wanted to charge an arm, a leg and my first born for the replacement part. Checked here and found it at a much cheaper rate where I still get to keep my soul. Replaced it myself (it's really not that difficult). My dryer has a new lease on life. It works like new (except for the coin stuck in the drum).Fact is: We essentially have a brand new dryer. BobCat Top Contributor: Cycling 2.0 out of 5 stars I went to Frigidaire website and found a parts catalog and found the control board part number 134523200; searched for a video to demonstrate replacing the control board then bought this. I did contact DIY Repair via email and rec'd an email reply that assured me these are NEW and Not refurbished. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PHOTOS for this ad; you are only receiving the control board circuit panel and not the entire part that includes the housing!! I believe that's false advertising or misleading at the least. Anyway, initially the selector must have been misaligned because it was showing different times for what was selected with the knob; for instance 30 minutes for the Towels setting which should be 1:00 hour and so I had to correct that by readjusting the dial and switch to have the correct setting with the correct dial selection. That didn't take long but it's something that needs checking and correcting. This may not have needed adjusting if only the entire part was sent out. After securing the circuit board to the housing, which should have been included and this step not needed, the difficult part was aligning all the LED light posts, the button switches and the control knob when attaching to the console; DIY Repair should just picture the circuit board and not the entire part with housing!!!

Did self test and got a E56 error code.I am just a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. Therefore the dryer ID doesn't mean anything to me. Over the years, I haven't had much trouble with my dryers. The E56 error code means high motor current. To help you find out why, I suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good trouble shooting and repair information on dryers and other appliances. I think you'll find what you need there. You can probably verify the meaning of the error code there. Good luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my advice on fixya. Dryer would run for a bit and then stop. All lights above the Start button would flash. Referred to this manual Affinity Dryer Manual pdf Google Drive and followed the instructions to put the machine into test mode. On the first test, the thermistor reading never got above 73 degrees, so that told me the element was not heating. I replaced the element last year, so that wasn't it.

Login to post This indicates a problem with the heating element, the thermistor or the control board. You'll need to unplug the unit and access the wiring. Inspect the heating coil for breaks. If the above are okay, your control board is probably bad. If you post a comment with the model number, I may be able to point you the appropriate parts. If your dryer is under warranty, contact Frigidaire. I hope this helps. Cindy WellsThere are a couple of issues that could cause this problem and if you're comfortable working on it yourself, I can try to direct you to self-help website that will explain how to diagnose the issue. Be advised it will require some machine disassembly to test whether it's actually a motor problem or if there is an issue with the tub assembly being difficult to turn. The other possibility is this is a false error code. Please try resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WPDoes anyone have an answer? This may be mechanically stuck or the membrane contacts. The simple solution is to replace the keypad. This thermostat cuts back in when the temperature drops by 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This E-line assembly comes with a felt strip and insulators already attached. Once the internal temperature of the dryer reaches 220 degrees, the heating element cuts out. Please note that this is only a cosmetic difference. This part is located in the blower housing. There are several things you can take a look at to try to determine the cause of your Frigidaire dryer not heating.

We’ll walk you through how to check things out. You may be filling it with too many items at once. When your dryer is filled to capacity with wet clothes, they don’t always have enough space to allow sufficient air circulation. Without proper air circulation, your dryer cannot dry efficiently. If you have a dryer not drying clothes in a reasonable time, this could be why. Use an appliance brush and a vacuum to get the lint and debris as cleared out as possible. It’s important to also check the vent on the exterior of the house to make sure it is clear and allowing unobstructed airflow. The thermal fuse is designed to blow if the dryer gets too hot. Use a multimeter to check if the thermal fuse has continuity. If it is defective, replace it. When you have a dryer not heating, the heating element may have failed. If the coils are damaged or no longer work throughout the entire dry cycle, then your dryer won’t maintain enough heat and your clothes won’t dry efficiently. If any of the coils are broken or otherwise damaged, they will need to be replaced. If the coils are intact, use a multimeter to check for continuity to ensure they are working properly. If either method indicates the heating element has failed, replace it. If the ignitor has burned out, the dryer won’t be able to generate heat. This is not terribly uncommon, especially if your dryer has been used for years. If the ignitor has failed, replace it. Getting the drum out wasn't hard, after removing the top and front panels (I left all the wires hooked up to the front panel) just unhook the belt from the motor and idler pulley and use it to lift upward. I had to jerk it up about 5 times before it would come out. Pay close attention to where the ball bearing is in relation to the plastic cup and the retainer that mounts to the back of the unit before you disassemble it. Putting the bearing cup and retainer in place is easy when the dryer is pulled completely away from the wall so that you can get to the rear of the unit and the inside of the back wall at the same time.

Hold times are long. The holes in the metal plate are not threaded. Use the self tapping screws in the kit to thread the plate. If the dryer is noisy then the rear bearing could be worn and require replacement. Before checking the heating element, first make sure that the thermal fuse is not defective. Normally, a heating element will have a break in the coil if defective. If the dryer does not latch properly then either the strike or catch is likely damaged and will need to be replaced. These drum glides help to support the front of the dryer drum as it rotates. Sold individually. It is recommended to replace both at one time. May be located on the blower housing or element. If the dryer overheats, the thermal fuse blows to cut off power to the dryer. If the thermal fuse has blown, the dryer won't start. If the dryer takes too long to dryer or is noisy then the blower wheel could be damaged and require replacement. If the drum support ball is also worn you can purchase these items in a drum bearing kit.

5 hours to complete, including the extensive lint-cleaning I did while the dryer was disassembled. The only tricky parts: 1) reassembling the frame: it was tough to get the screw holes of the frame pieces to line up after being apart: I mean really tough. 2) tapping the threads for the new ball hitch was more difficult than I thought it would be. I had to use a power screwdriver to power two of them in as the manual screwdriver bit was just slipping out of the screw head when I tried to muscle them in by hand. I found that the gasket on the blower wheel assembly is getting pretty tattered, I'll be replacing that very soon. If your dryer is over 5 years old, you may want to consider getting that to start with. Once the heating element was inspected, it had burnt in two. I ordered a new one from you, waited a day and had it back together in 15 mins. First watch the videos, practice disassemble and reassemble the dryer drum. Make certain you have a good screw driver and spatula from kitchen (could not find my putty knife). Secondly, clean and inspect everything, make sure the motor bearing and belt pulleys are in good condition with little or no play. Third after you have confidently disassembled, vacuum cleaned, inspected all the worn parts, grease the motor and pulley, reassembled the dryer and discovered it still works. Forth step, You are now ready to order your parts to refurbish the dryer. My rear bearing was worn, belt was 3-4 yrs old from last replacement, the top felt and Teflon were getting compressed allowing the drum to wander, exhaust flex ducting and clamp had worn out with cracks and leaks. The parts arrived within a week, was wrapped and put under the Christmas Tree. 5th step, recruit the help of a young daughter to hold the parts in the rear of the dryer because my arms could not reach and my eyes could not see both sides of the dryer to replace the bearing, bearing cup and housing. Do Not Force the Parts.

The hardest part was attaching the new bearing stud ball piece (the part that looks like a little doorknob on a big flange). The screws are phillips head and are also self tapping. Getting these screws started without stripping the phillips drive was very challenging. It takes quite a bit of pressure to keep the drive engaged. I ended up placing the drum on the floor so that the bearing stud flange was pressed up against the rear drum wall. This way the bearing stud was pushing back as I pushed down to get the screws to bite. I also found that using a brand new bit that looked almost too big for the screw in a drill allowed me to push very hard while letting the drill to the turning. The screws then went right in. All of the above took about 30-45 minutes. I spent another 45 minutes or so cleaning out lint. Then I greased up everything with the included grease and reassembled the dryer. When I was putting the belt back on, the idler assembly and spring came completely off, but I found it was intuitive to put back (no fasteners, just hook the arm on the pivot and rehook the spring). I did a test run before I put it back under the cabinet. I heard some noises which turned out to be coins caught in the tumbler fins. I removed the top and was able to remove the offending fin without taking the front off. Found 50 cents! The dryer works good as new now. Very quiet and it dries faster now with all the lint gone. I located the model number on the inside lip of the dryer door: Frigidaire Affinity LEQ6000ES2. I ordered a rear drum bearing kit as well as a dryer drum belt (after nearly 7 years of heavy use, I figured it would make sense to replace that as well. Everything arrived within 2 days of order, as usual, APP is very prompt. After receiving the parts, I watched a video here on Appliance PartsPros showing how to replace the rear drum bearing. I followed the procedure closely, as my dryer was very similar to the one shown in the video. It took about 2.

(I ended up using a power drill to loosen those bolts.) I also did this myself, but I recommend having someone to help you out, especially with bolting the drum back into place, since you have to hold the drum up WHILE you bolt the three bolts back. (I propped the drum on my knees and adjusted as necessary, but this part was a pain.) I also highly recommend that if you do this, replace the rear bearing assembly too. Opening up and closing this thing in its entirety takes a while, so you might as well get that done too. I'm hoping this will last me another 10 years. This was a cheap and relatively easy fix. I considered just getting the element for less money, but this was an easy solution. You just remove the old and plug the leads into the new. Mine screwed back on with the orignal holes and screws. I diagnosed this problem by physically examining the heating element. I pulled out the drum and when looking at the coil there was a break. It's obvious once you get in there. Be sure to save the old high limit switch. That might die someday and you won't need to buy a new one. While you're in there, it's worth the time to add some high temp lube to the ball joint on the drum. This will keep the drum tumbling smoothly and not squeeking. You should also examin the belt for excessive wear. It's helpful to have a second pair of hands to for mounting the new sheild. Someone to hold it in place while you screw it in through the back.I was able to replace this part myself in less than an hour. The dryer works great now, and seems to dry a little faster with the new element. The old element lasted almost 10 years, hopefully this one lasts just as long.If you are changing this out you might as well change the rear bearing too as you are literally right there and it's just as easy. I did the main bearing last year and KNEW I should have done the element to but I had not ordered it at the time.

I did get another year out of it but in the end I spend another hour pulling the unit apart (again) to install the heater once it DID fail. The actual installation of the replacement heater was four screws and four electrical connectors. Simple.I paid less for this than I paid the repair man to come out and tell me I should buy a new dryer. What a jackass. With my lovely assistant (my wife), we fully disassembled, cleaned, rebuilt, reassembled and repositioned the dryer in our tiny closet laundry room in about two hours.Everything fit and plugged into it like the original part. Have used it on several drying cycles now and it works exactly like the original did. Local store had the part which is usually my preference but amazon had it for half the price. Seems like a good quality replacement that will last until the dryer dies. Just find the part number and manual for your dryer and make sure it matches exactly before you buy.Works great. Ray B. 5.0 out of 5 stars Took about a couple of hours and got to learn how relatively-simple, but tedious it is. Search for videos on YouTube on how to take your dryer apart, but it seems like MOST dryers are the same. Basically, - disconnect the dryer from power - in the back, remove the rear access panel to reach and remove the belt from the motor assembly - in the back or front, remove any bolts holding the top cover and remove it - in the front, remove bolts from the top and disconnect just enough wires to remove the electronic board assembly (where you make your dryer selections) - in the front, remove bolts from the TOP and BOTTOM (lift up the entire dryer to see these bolts) and INSIDE to remove the entire front panel, lifting and then pulling it away - in the front on the top, remove the plastic drum guide - in the drum assembly, remove the bolts holding the drum to the rear bearing assembly (three center bolts); I recommend something that can generate a LOT of torque for this step - lifting the drum and guiding it out through the front of the dryer - cleaning up any lint.I recommend having GOOD tools. I took mine apart using a PC repair kit and a Leatherman, which works up until you remove the drum from the rear bearing assembly, because those bolts are TIGHT.
